Craig was born in Dunedin NZ in 1961.

Career Highlights:

Craig studied with Jerry Coker at the University of Tennessee in 1982 and also at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1983.

In 1985 Craig moved to Sydney Australia where he has lived and worked professionally ever since.

Since moving to Sydney, Craig has performed with Billy Cobham, Bob Florence, Louie Bellson, Mike Nock, Rob McConnell, Dave MaCrae, Sydney All Star Big Band, Mark Isaacs, James Morrison, Don Burrows, Ten Part Invention, Bobby Shu, Paul MacNamara, Tommy Tycho, Rhonda Burchmore & Anthony Warlow, Michael Ball, and Tom Burlinson.

Craig has toured to Montreaux Jazz Festival 1980 & 1981, United Kingdom, Poland, USA, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and India for Jazza Yatra Festival 1994.

Craig has also recorded his own Quartet 'First Light' who have performed at Manly Jazz Festival, Wangaratta Jazz Festival, and Bellingen Jazz Festival.

In 2001 Craig performed at the Christchurch Festival of the Arts with the Don Rader Quintet. He has also run workshops at the Christchurch School of Jazz and at the Massey University Jazz course in Wellington.

In 2005 Craig toured Australia with Cleo Lane and John Dankworth. He has also performed with Michael Buble.

Craig has been teaching saxophone at the Australian Institute of Music since 1993 and continues in this position.
